I love fried chicken. I love waffles. So what would be better than combining the two? I devoured this meal in minutes. I saw that dude from Man Vs. Food eat here and I had to go when we went to Atlanta. I actually chose this place over the The Varsity. There was a huge debate, but I had to have this. I just had to.

I know most people would think this is gross, but don’t knock it til you try it. I like to be adventurous with food and this is hardly adventurous. I can’t wait for all the interesting eats in Korea.

The amount of people that were there this day was overwhelming. I don’t know about you, but I always thought it would be easy to walk/climb the Great Wall. It didn’t look too difficult, but honestly I was gravely mistaken. The steps are all detioriated and uneven and with the sheer mass of people, it was easy to lose your footing. Also, the incline is quite intense. I really wanted to make it to the station on the top, but I only made it to the one in the middle of the photo. All the little Asian people pushing up against me, along with the incline really put me off. I really want another chance to walk along the Wall when no one is there, I think I could make it a bit farther.

Back in March, Markus and I spent the day at Taejongdae. We have so many photos that I have to edit and I’ve slowly gone through them. There were some real gems. I’ll be posting the best ones at Wandering the Unknown. So if you want to see them, make sure to follow! We post the majority of our videos and photos there.

Anyway, we took a ferry to see the beautiful islands and cliffs of Taejongdae. The day that we went was really windy, overcast and the water was choppy. I kid you not, when we were on the ferry, I thought we were going to sink. Even the ahjussi captain looked at me and said, “It’s okay” in Korean. I thought we were gonna die.

Finally we returned and disembarked onto a cliff face. Instead of going back to the park area, we climbed the rocky cliffs, found a flat surface and had a little picnic. I felt like I was in an old episode of Star Trek or something. It was quite exciting. We munched on triangle kimbap, looked out at the sea and enjoyed the breeze. It was a perfect interlude after facing what seemed like imminent death. It was definitely a day for adventure.

After sitting on our shelf for almost 6 years we’ve finally gotten around to editing the footage of our trip to London. This video is very dear to us for a few reasons: (1) This was our honeymoon, which was quite a lovely way to start off our marriage. (2) It has always been Noelle’s dream to travel across the pond and experience London first hand. Considering she’s the biggest anglophiliac I know, this was her dream come true! If you notice, I am not in any of the footage, which only confirms my theory: I was not actually on vacation in London. I was just there to document her experience. Hah hah hah! (3) This video documents our very first trip together, but it also a documents the first steps of our adventure; and it has been quite an adventure so far! We’ve traveled to so many places, learned about many cultures, and gained invaluable experiences. So we look to the future and all that it will bring.

Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox: Bemidji, Minnesota circa...

Paul Bunyan & Babe the Blue Ox: Bemidji, Minnesota circa June 2002

This park...

Stairway at People’s Park: Tagaytay, Philippines

This park in Tagaytay was quite beautiful. At People’s Park, you can ride horses, have fish eat your dead skin, ride a zip-line, have a picnic and hike the mountain. There is a gorgeous view of Lake Taal and the Taal Volcano. We rode the zip-line across the side of the mountain. At first I was petrified, but after a few moments, it was quite exciting. There were heaps of people have picnics and hanging out. I wish we could’ve spent more time there since there was loads to do, but we were so tired from going up the volcano. If we ever go back, I would love to go back to People’s Park and spend the whole day there.

Harvard: Cambridge, Massachusetts circa November...

Harvard: Cambridge, Massachusetts circa November 2010
